American Apparel's Dov Charney Sued For Making Teenage Employee His Sex Slave

American Apparel's Dov Charney Sued For Making Teenage Employee His Sex Slave

Warning this article may contain crude words and material not suitable for young kids and people who just can't handle hearing this ..

I am sharing this to let others know why American Apparel should be banned and not advertise their inappropriate sexual ads to the public and on magazines .
I feel very strongly that if women or anyone is treated like a piece of meat and degraded then it shouldn't be spread to the public so that everyone can see this filth . I have never bought an item from American Apparel no matter how nice their shirts , headbands , nailpolishes may look ! I mean to me I can't explain how I feel when I read articles like these .. First I heard news about the fashion photographer Terry Richardson doing sexual acts with the models he was photographing . The documentary Picture Me by Sara Ziff and Ole Schell was about how models can easily be sexually abused and taken advantage of . Why can't these people just go to jail ?

What are your thoughts if you have any about this matter ?

I think it's disgusting. And the fact that it probably happens even more than we know, is even worse. It's kind of like an underground culture in the fashion industry, where most people just turn their heads the other way. It's gross. A lot of people think 'well, a lot of women know what they're getting into when they join the industry' but the thing is - why does that have to be OK? Why do things like that have to happen in the first place? Women shouldn't have to protect themselves or avoid a certain industry because of things that could happen. There should be more laws and women should feel safer about reporting mistreatment.

I totally agree with you pretty in the desert . Yesterday was International Women's Day and yes shows that glamorize being a model like America's Next Top Model are not good unless there will be protection of these young women and laws against these crimes .

I think its vile too. I will never shop in American Apparel, to be honest I have been in the store a couple of times but most of the stuff is so over priced anyway.

The Brunette ,

Agreed , their items are so overpriced . I heard about the American Apparel scandals a while back and ever since then I will never support such a company . Their ads are so horrible to look at that you feel as if you have been down a dirty street or something or seen a porn film . I get really angry when I hear about these cases of abuse .
I have seen beauty bloggers rave about their nail polish but maybe they don't know where they money is going to .
